blue
The world's first dedicated guitar
loudspeaker and a part of musical history!
Back in the 1950s, Celestion witnessed the
emergence of a new breed of musician - the
electric guitarist - and responded to their
needs for a rugged, reliable loudspeaker by
modifying the G12 radio speaker. The unique
tonal character of the Celestion Blue,
combined with the valve amps of the time,
helped to define the electric guitar as we
know it today.
Variations of the Blue were actually released in several different liveries, including chrome, red and silver. Used by many classic amplifier manufacturers of the time, it was the speaker's adoption by Vox for their AC30 that ensured the Blue's place in history.
The Top of the Line Alnico Blue is known for having a bright, lively character, the BEST creamy rich midrange, carefully controlled bottom end and shimmering highs with a beautiful forward presence. It is considered to be the best guitar speaker humanity has ever built. Loaded into a single 12" or 2 x 12" cabinet, this legendary loudspeaker suits a wide range of playing styles. 'Out of body' experiences have been reported!!
It may be expensive, but worth it! We have the lowest price on this or any other Celestion speaker we carry.

century
neodymium
Celestion's history goes back to the birth
of the electric guitar. But today, as ever,
Celestion remains at the forefront of guitar
loudspeaker innovation. Right at the start of
the new Century, they pioneered the use of a
revolutionary Neodymium magnet structure to
create the G12 Century - the loudest
Celestion guitar speaker of all
time!
Cramming huge amounts of flux into the voice coil gap, the G12 Century is staggeringly efficient and responsive, while at the same time exhibiting a musical character radically different to that of ceramic-based models.
A satisfyingly tight bottom end combines with detailed mids and a crisp top end to deliver stunning definition over a wide frequency range. For speed and articulation, no other speaker comes close.
Visually striking, the die-cast aluminum heatsink minimizes thermal compression and at less than half the weight of a conventional ceramic magnet speaker, the G12 Century still takes unbelievable punishment before it distorts. Wonderful all around tone, nice chimey mids, and made with New Dynamic Metal (Neodymium) composite magnets that are ten times stronger than regular ferrite magnets, therefore ten times smaller and lighter to achieve same magnet strength. Ultra Light Weight ..about 3 lbs and clean sounding similar sounding to the Classic Lead 80.

classic
lead 80
The Classic Lead is a fine example of the
sonic characteristics of a loudspeaker
evolving as new materials become
available.
Revolutionary in the late '70s, a fibreglass voice coil former - capable of withstanding very high temperatures - was used to give the Classic Lead a muscular 80W power handling. This also increased barrel stiffness, affecting the way the cone vibrated and influencing cone break up. Then, through experimentation with edge treatments and continued critical listening, some modes were encouraged while others were suppressed, contributing to the speaker's unique sound.
Today, the Classic Lead is much-loved by lead guitarists for its speed, punch and articulation, with every note clearly defined on even big, distorted sounds. The Classic Lead also sounds great clean, with that same articulation combining with high headroom to deliver a fluid, dynamic performance. This is the 'clean' model in the higher end of the Celestion line. They are very clear with tight bass, good definition in the mids and highs...often mixed with Greenbacks or V30's for that half clean/half crunchy tone.

vintage currently
unavailable
Unleashed just in time for Celestion's 80th
anniversary, the eagerly-anticipated G10
Vintage is the natural evolution of the
well-respected Vintage 10. Closer to the
sound of the Vintage 30 than its predecessor,
the G10 Vintage still maintains a distinctive
tonal flavour of its own. All of these
speakers use the same voice coil designs and
similar ceramic magnet structures to achieve
their familiar, hard-rocking Celestion
sound.
Harking back to the original British rock invasion, the G10 Vintage provides a meaty 60W power handling with solid bass, muscular mids and an articulate top-end, making it perfect for anyone looking to upgrade the sound of an existing 210" or 410". A particularly versatile performer, the G10 Vintage is also well suited for use in a single speaker cab.

g12h30
The G12H evokes the sounds of the classic
1960s and `70s rock bands. Loud and proud
thanks to its heavy magnet structure, the
G12H provides a fusion of the Vintage 30 and
the Greenback characteristics, producing a
thick, warm and syrupy sound while still
retaining a tight and focused rich bottom
end. When played clean, the speaker remains
clear and musical without ever sounding
harsh. In overdrive, pick attack is vividly
articulated with sustained notes trailing off
into warm harmonic tones. When the G12H30's
are mixed with Vintage 30's (above) the
result is a wonderful, real wide
response.perfect bass, mids, and
highs.

g12m
greenback
Celestion's first guitar loudspeaker
featuring a ceramic magnet structure, the
G12M 'Greenback' presented almost as much
magnetic flux to the voice coil as an Alnico
formulation, but in a much more compact
space. As a result the Greenback became the
guitar loudspeaker that paved the way for use
with higher power amplifiers. And, of course,
the ceramic magnet presented its own unique
tonal characteristics.
The general consensus is that the lower wattage Greenback is very similar in tone to the Vintage 30 except for that it has speaker cone break up SOONER than the Vintage 30, a tad more bass, and lots of great mids and highs. The Greenback has a loud and assertive character that sounds great through a valve and pushed into overdrive. The speaker has evolved over the decades and still presents that instantly familiar wood tone, delivered with a knockout punch.

g12t-75
Released towards the end of the '70s, the
G12T-75 heralded a new era of high power
guitar loudspeakers.
The G12T-75 is seen by many as the ultimate incarnation of the original Celestion G12M model - a Greenback on steroids in the quest for higher power. With its aggressive and spiky tonal qualities, the G12T-75 has featured extensively in cabinets like the legendary Marshall 1960.
The best selling guitar speaker of all time, the G12T-75 is in fact remarkably versatile, staying clean at thunderously high volume levels. But it's in rock and high gain metal that this speaker has really made its mark, with an emphasis on huge bass, relaxed or scooped mids and vibrant sizzling highs.
8 ohm or 16 ohm 75W
The new Celestion G12H is a perfect recreation of the low resonance model, right down to the voice coil former material, glue formulations and vintage, solder-only tag panel. Suitable for use in all cabs, it exudes thick, syrupy tones with a deep, growling bottom end.

heritage
g12m
Way back in the 1960s, Celestion released a
version of the popular G12 guitar loudspeaker
called the G12M. These days nicknamed the
Greenback, with its medium weight magnet this
speaker had a tone that was silky smooth and
warm, while still retaining the brightness
and punch necessary to cut through the rest
of the band. The Greenback was also a highly
articulate speaker, perfect for the
pioneering lead guitarists of the time. A
classic had been born.
Over subsequent years, the Greenback has evolved and remains popular with guitarists and amp manufacturers to this day. As the speaker developed, though, its tonal characteristics moved away from those of the original '60s model.
Adhering precisely to the design notes and specifications for the original speaker, re-discovered during our recent factory move, and using exactly the same materials and construction techniques, Celestion has recreated the classic 1960s G12M for a new generation of rock and blues guitarists.

vintage
30
The Vintage 30 resulted from Celestion's
early steps to preserve the tonal
characteristics of vintage speakers while
using contemporary materials and construction
techniques.
As the 1970s progressed and guitar amplifiers became more powerful, guitarists began to demand the tone of the Celestion Blue in a speaker that could handle more power. So in the early '80s, Celestion made pioneering use of Laser Doppler Interferometry to analyze the cone behavior of an original Celestion Blue. They were then able to form a precise model of the vintage speaker characteristics and apply it to a speaker design using new materials for greater power handling.
This has been the Rock and Roll industry standard for years. The Vintage 30 handles massive overdrive sounds with ease, sounds great clean or crunchy! Tight bass, fat mids and a smooth, harmonically rich top end have made the Vintage 30 an excellent choice for all types of music.

weighing only about 3 lbs. Here is a
description from the Celestion.com
website:
"The G12 Century Vintage is a new loudspeaker combining the advanced properties of a Neodymium magnet structure with traditional voicing to create an efficient, modern loudspeaker with an instantly recognizable vintage tone. The sound may be classic, but the revolutionary Neodymium magnet delivers the added benefits of fast attack, extra responsiveness and exceptional articulation, making the Century Vintage a perfect blend of old and new. Lifting a Century Vintage-loaded 412" cab is refreshingly easy, yet when it comes to performance, this speaker is anything but lightweight. De-tuned and 7-string players in particular will love the low end power and definition, even on the most over-driven sounds."
