When Carey Nordstrand introduced his line of custom bass guitars, he very quickly earned a reputation as one of the best bass builders period. His new line of Nordstrand pickups is winning him the same accolades and rave reviews from bassists and guitarists alike.
Using a sophisticated programmable winding machine, Carey's pickups are fashioned with a simulated hand wind pattern. This provides a couple of benefits: it lowers the resonant peak of the pickup for a sweeter high end that's never harsh, and it allows for a repeatable sonic character coil after coil. You're assured that the first pickup you buy will sound like the last pickup you buy. Of course, all pickups are made with Alnico V magnets and a variety of MWS wires.
